“From the hood” shouldn't be a license to threaten people.

This is emotional performance art wrapped in street talk.

They’re not representing the struggle. They’re cosplaying for clicks.
BRIEFING
Jett here. There’s a strange new trend in politics. Young Black female politicians are branding themselves as “hood queens” and leaning into violent, ghetto-style rhetoric. Let’s get into it.
It’s one thing to grow up in a tough neighborhood and speak from lived experience. Like it or not, that's what "gangsta rappers" do, and they make millions while they're at it. But what we’re seeing now are these privileged Black career women cosplaying as "project queens." These successful women, often from privilege, are acting out this warped, violent version of “the struggle” because it sells in today’s outrage economy.
They talk about cutting throats, “bringing the hood to Congress,” and “not backing down," all while wearing designer heels and eating brunch at the "whitest" joints in town.
This "hood act" doesn’t elevate Black voices. It actually mocks and demeans them. It turns lived culture into a political costume and anger into applause lines. And in a time when real violence is spilling into the streets, this ghetto-girl performance is like gasoline on an already raging fire.
But here is where it crosses the line from politics to pathology. Texas Democrat Jolanda Jones went on CNN and bragged about being “from the hood” before threatening to “cut Republicans’ throats.” She called it strategy. She said Democrats have to “fight ugly.”
Uglier than assassinating a young husband and father in front of his family? I mean, how "UGLY" do they wanna get?
This is yet another violent, attention-grabbing act from an angry Black female politician. It's meant to sound “real” and “raw,” but this crap is as fake as it gets. Decent people from tough neighborhoods don’t glorify that kind of talk, okay? They survive it and do better.
Jones wrapped her violent rhetoric in the language of identity, as if being “from the hood” automatically makes you some uncontrollable violent zombie, so it's perfectly okay to threaten your political opponents on national television. But in a country already bleeding and dying from political violence, this is yet another left-wing dog whistle.
She knows exactly what she’s doing.

Democrat Texas state Rep. Jolanda Jones has sparked outrage after threatening that Democrats will “wipe out” every Republican and, in a graphic metaphor, “slash” their political opponents’ throats.
Jones framed the violent rhetoric as part of a call for Democrats to fight harder for voters they are losing.
She made the remarks on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront,” arguing Democrats must change tactics to regain support among black and low-income voters.
Jones said the party needs to “fight” in ways she characterized as tougher and less restrained.
“I’m from the hood, okay?!” she raged on CNN.
“So when a bully comes, like, if there are no rules, you literally have to figure it out.
“So, Donald Trump has changed things, and people trying to do what’s always been done is not going to work.”
Jones went on to explain her blunt approach, saying she would not retaliate by “punching” an opponent in the face.
Instead, Jones warned that she would “go across your neck” so the opponent “won’t come back.”
She said similar language was used in a conversation with New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, urging Democrats to “wipe out every Republican in New York, in California, in Illinois.”
Speaking with Axios, Jones expanded on the point, saying Democrats must be willing to “fight ugly.”
She described growing up amid violence, referencing the murders of family members and her father’s suicide.
Jones framed her violent rhetoric as rooted in those life experiences.

SICK. Democrat Texas State Rep Joland Jones says she's going to come for the "necks" and "wipe out" every Republican:
"So if you hit me in my face, I'm not going to punch you back in your face, I'm going to go across your neck ... we need to wipe out every Republican."
This is the exact type or rhetoric that got Charlie murdered BY A SHOT TO THE NECK!!

Jasmine Crockett is another Black woman fighting the new "Hood Wars." She has built a brand on confrontation, and it’s more performance than passion. Her fake Black accent and her violent rhetoric are both growing and evolving rather quickly.

And now, with her seat gone and her spotlight fading, Jasmine Crockett has cranked the act up to eleven. Her new “ghetto” accent is so over-the-top it’s a total parody, very cartoonish, insulting, and downright embarrassing. It sounds like she’s mocking the people she claims to represent.

Before the viral clips and theatrical outbursts, Jasmine Crockett spoke very differently. Early interviews show a polished, articulate congresswoman using the same calm, professional tone you’d expect from any well-educated attorney.

Jasmine's "boo girl" act is getting more and more violent. In a recent appearance, Crockett encouraged her audience to “throw folding chairs," because that's what Black people know how to do, right? They know how to "throw a folding chair." Empowering stuff.

Jasmine Crockett threatens to use folding chairs to hit people and encourages her audience to do the same.
This isn’t the first time she’s incited violence. She’s uploaded violent content depicting Republicans getting beaten.
Crockett even recently assaulted a journalist.

DEBRIEFING
The "Hood Wars" is a real phenomenon. You have to wonder where this idea even came from. Probably some out-of-touch white political consultant who thinks this kind of talk and violence is what Black America relates to. It’s disgusting. It doesn’t just mock Black people; it endangers everyone else and turns government into a bad off-Broadway "Barbershop" show.
NOW YOU KNOW
The only thing “from the hood” about them is their act.
