BRIEFING
Grant here. EBT is finally getting a much-needed makeover, where now, in certain states, SNAP benefits can no longer be used for sugary drinks or candy. Honestly, it's a pretty reasonable rule, since those foods don't really offer "nutrition" anyway. But as we know, where there's a will, there's a way, and many sugar-addicted EBT folks are finding some insane loopholes to continue to get their candy and soda fix. Let’s break it down.
In this viral X clip, a man explains that in his home state of Indiana, certain items are restricted under EBT, like a cart full of soda.
But this guy apparently isn't ready to use his own money for soda, so instead he gets in his car and drives across state lines all the way to friggin' Tennessee.
I mean, just imagine what he paid for in gas to drive from Indiana to Tennessee. It had to be at least $15 bucks in gas, maybe more depending on which part of Indiana he lives in. But clearly, this is all just to "stick it to the man." Because god forbid this guy shell out $20+ to buy his own carbonated sugar.

DEBRIEFING
This entire thing isn't even about soda or candy or EBT restrictions. This is about energy, and frankly, it's shocking the amount of energy some folks are putting into this so-called "ban" instead of pouring it into something more productive.
When you're driving across state lines just to be able to get a cart full of sugary drinks funded by the government, there's a bigger problem at play.
EBT exists to help those in need be able to purchase food—emphasis on FOOD. Because soda, energy drinks, and candy literally cannot be considered something nutritionally valid. It's like expecting EBT to cover a case of beer.
But that's the problem. People are literally becoming so bloated on this program, both physically and mentally, that they believe taxpayer dollars should fund their junk food habits.
And apparently they're willing to drive across state lines just to prove that point.
NOW YOU KNOW
The EBT junk food determination is strong...

Based on my projections this trip cost about 29 bucks, based on gas prices in the southern tip of Indiana at $3.29, in Evansville, and going to Clarksville, Tenn at the northern reaches of that state. About 3 hours as well. He probably has a fat, gas guzzling truck or SUV, such as I have, so I am giving him 25 miles to the gallon ( generous) at 8.8 gallons expended. All to get junk food on EBT, Well if you need it bad enough, it seems worth trip, ecck!
If he can afford the gas to drive tat far he does not need food stamps at all. Cut him off entirely.
