BRIEFING

Grant here. Going to the salon is a pricey thing. Everyone knows this. From the time you look at the website to when you make the appointment, most people are fully aware of both the service and the cost. But for some odd reason there's a growing trend where even though people know how much they need to pay, they still refuse to saddle up at the end. Let's break it down.

So in the video we're about to see, a young lady booked a $305 Hydrafacial, but yet, she only showed up with $180 in her pocket. But it gets worse. Even when the esthetician tries to eliminate the extra products she wants to buy to bring down the balance, the girl still wants that too, and mind you, this extra merch is on top of her $305 facial, and she still only has $180.

Then she actually has the gall to ask for basically a $400 discount. When the esthetician won't bend and also points out that this chick is the one who booked the service to begin with, the young lady asks, "So this is my fault?" and the esthetician answers back with a simple, "Yes."

This is truly entitlement on a whole different level.

SOURCE

And again, this isn't an isolated case. All over social media, especially on TikTok, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of videos of women who are flat-out refusing to pay for services they've already received.

DEBRIEFING

What we're seeing here is a bizarre shift in not only the service industry but also how people perceive services being received.

Following recent reports that Congress is considering a nationwide voter ID requirement for federal elections, do you support requiring voters to show identification before casting a ballot?

By completing the poll, you agree to receive emails from Cypher-News.com, occasional offers from our partners and that you've read and agree to our privacy policy and legal statement.

It's about entitlement, sure, but it's also a complete lack of knowledge about how things work. These people just don't understand everything that's happening under the hood when they get a facial or a brand new set of nails. There are real costs associated with these services, and the most valuable of all: a person's time and effort.

This leaves workers in an awkward place where they have to defend their prices, justify their value, and stand their ground just to get paid what was already agreed upon.

And you can see it in the way the conversation plays out in that first video. The woman providing the service keeps returning to the original agreement. While the client keeps trying to barter and argue. The logic here isn’t "What did I agree to?" It's "What can I get away with right now?"

NOW YOU KNOW

The price didn’t change. The mindset did.
