BRIEFING
Grant here. Ah, Paris. When you think of the idealized version of this city and living in it, you can imagine walking down quaint Parisian streets, lined with bakeries and restaurants. Then walking up to your chic apartment door, turning the key, and walking in. However, this is the "idealized version," remember? No, the actual reality of living in a city like Paris, or honestly, any major city, is anything but ideal, and it's often filled with inconveniences. But this one woman's journey of going from the street to her Parisian apartment has to take the cake for the most absurd thing ever. Let’s break it down.
A woman who lives in Paris is going viral after filming her standard route to her apartment. You might think, "Well, how complicated could it be?" Trust me, this journey from street to home is so intense that you might actually need a map and a sherpa just to navigate it. No joke.
It's like some low-budget obstacle course. Door. Stairs. Another door. A hallway. A courtyard. More stairs. Two locks for good measure.
It's so intense that this woman is actually doing the sign of the cross just to get through it. Then, at one point she points out that the groceries she can carry are typically limited to two leeks and one can of Coke, because anything heavier would basically be impossible.

Then in another video, she shows the inside of her apartment, which, yeah, it's decent, and sure, it's in Paris.
But for most people, it's not worth the 30 minute mental and physical workout you have to put in daily just to leave and return to your home.

And she also addresses the fact of why she doesn't use that big, glaring elevator.

DEBRIEFING
So yeah, this is sometimes the reality of living in an apartment in Paris. Certainly, it's on the extreme end, but still, many apartments in older cities like these are going to come with some quirks.
But as you can see from the videos, she seems pretty content with her situation. She's not ranting or panicking. She's just calmly narrating the increasingly complicated journey like someone who has fully accepted her fate.
But honestly, she better be getting one heck of a deal on that rent. Because otherwise, she could take the thousands she's probably paying for that apartment and find one without a Minecraft-style maze somewhere else. And probably cheaper.
