Grandma’s dinner has now become an emissions problem.

The green agenda gets uglier when it reaches the nursing home.

The climate state always starts with targets and ends on somebody’s plate.
BRIEFING
Grant here. We've seen a lot of overreach from climate activists, but this latest move is really crossing a line. Apparently, in Copenhagen, even people living their golden years can't sit down and enjoy a nice slab of meat without the government having something to say about it. Let’s break it down.
A post on X says Copenhagen’s Green-led council is now limiting elderly care residents to 80 grams of beef per week, which works out to about 11.4 grams per day. Just to give you a visual idea of what 11.4 grams is, it's basically a single tablespoon of beef, so yeah, extremely tiny. The post also claims that elderly people specifically are being punished with their meat consumption since they were among the biggest climate offenders during their lives. So now they're expected to make up for these "atrocities" in the final years of their life, one tiny serving at a time.

Copenhagen's Green-led council is limiting elderly care residents to 80 grams of beef per week for climate reasons.
That works out to 11.4 grams a day, which is less meat than most people put in a single taco.
A Green party rep explained the logic: the elderly "have been the biggest climate sinners throughout their lives."
So the plan is apparently to make them atone for it in their final years, one thimble of mince at a time.
Critics, including opposition parties and elderly advocates, say the policy risks undernutrition in a population already vulnerable to it.
The council says it's flexible, but the elderly eating climate penance for dinner might disagree.

Now compared to the X post, the official wording on this new rule is a bit more careful but still revealing.
Danish fact-checker TjekDet reports that Copenhagen’s food and meal strategy does include an 80-gram weekly benchmark for beef, veal, and lamb for nursing-home residents. The city claims this is a guideline, not a hard legal rule, and that nursing homes can adjust meals based on individual needs, appetite, nutrition, and resident preferences. So, it's not some sweeping legal measure. At least not for now.
But as we all know, Copenhagen is an extremely liberal city, and it's their mission to reduce their climate footprint whenever possible, including at mealtime. TjekDet reports that the whole nursing home meat reduction plan is part of Copenhagen’s broader Mad- og Måltidsstrategi, or food and meal strategy, aimed at cutting the climate impact of municipal meals.
DEBRIEFING
To say this rule or guideline is an overreach would be a huge understatement. It's actually borderline cruel.
You have these people at the end of their lives, and now the government is potentially taking away the one thing that can bring them nutrition and comfort in their final years.
After all, food is routine, comfort, memory, dignity, and one of the few daily pleasures many elderly residents still have. When the state starts measuring beef, veal, and lamb in tiny weekly climate allotments, it's government overreach on steroids.
It's also important to note that this is how "guidelines" can gradually start to become "policy." It begins with broad goals that everyone is supposed to support, then turns those goals into benchmarks, policies, procurement rules, menu plans, and eventually a sad, tiny stamp of beef on Grandma’s plate.
This is all a slippery slope, and even though it's not law at this point, if enough people don't stand up and say "enough is enough," this will continue to spread and grow.
NOW YOU KNOW
When bureaucrats count Grandma’s beef, the agenda has gone too far.

Get one thing straight. That’s what isn’t “liberal”. They just spout root word for liberal is liberty. There is zero liberty in that. It is totalitarian, which is truth of the left. They will take complete control of your life.
I knew this would happen, I made a comment a year or more ago that all the people who are driving gasoline powered cars today will be made to pay for that indiscretion if we continue down this fake “green” path we are on.
