Grant here. There's a ton of controversy surrounding ICE, immigration, and migrants, both legal and illegal. The entire situation is a powder keg of emotions and opinions from both liberals and conservatives. But this situation has a lot of people really questioning who's in the wrong here. Let’s break it down.
In this video, a group of "migrant" workers are on-site, appearing to be in the middle of or just starting work on a house. More specifically, it looks to be roofing work, which is definitely a pricey project.
Then all of a sudden, everything shifts.
Law enforcement shows up, and the situation quickly turns from a job site into something else entirely.

The workers are trying to understand what’s happening, asking questions, recording, and reacting as things unfold around them.
In the context of the X post, it's stated that this woman who had the migrant workers doing renovations on her house apparently called ICE on them, thus avoiding paying the $10k that she owed them.

DEBRIEFING
Okay so we've got two big moral issues at play here. First off, it's not right to be in a country illegally. Full stop. That's breaking the law and taking advantage of the system.
Then, on the hand, it's not right to hire workers who are illegal with the end goal of not paying them.
But again, this is all speculation. We still don't know the whole story. Did this woman really hire these migrants knowing or suspecting they were illegal? And are these workers all truly illegal?
And those are questions that can shift the entire narrative a lot, but as of this moment, we don't have the answers.
At the end of the day, taking this story at face value, one can easily say both are at fault...
But, as we know, it's not always that simple

If they are illegal, they and their employer have taken a lot more than 10K from taxpayers. If more people did this, maybe it would send a message about hiring illegals.
The homeowner didn’t rip them off. This is the beginning of the job, not the end. The old 3 tab is still on the roof, a worker is holding a tear-off shovel, and the tarps on the ground are clean of debris. They probably hadn’t been there more than an hour. ICE probably just followed them from Home Depot.
Enough with the “full stops,” “dog whistles,” and “super powers,” etc. It doesn’t make your work stand out in any way. Actually, the opposite.
How was the homeowner supposed to know this company, like many, hires illegals. When the estimate is done only one guy comes out, usually the owner, to give the accurate estimate. My partner had her roof installed in 2019 and the owner came out, sized up the job, she got the costs and then…weeks later an Army of illegals came to the home and one ( not my partners doing) was taken away by local police for being illegal AND having a record. My buddy owned a roofing business in a small town growing up, Burlington in NJ. He did the installing with 2 guys to help, period. It was hard work but done quickly,accurately and cost efficient. Now the companies are bigger and hire many more, and not legally, idiots to go up there and do the monkey work while a supervisor watches them.And we pay for that. I got my last roof in 2014 for half what she paid for in 2019. And its the greed and illegality of roofing firms today to maximize profile at the lowest costs possible. Good for her, she don’t know these slugs were illegals, no way. It’s not like they advertise it on the internet. I would do the same and maybe this will teach a lesson to firms like the ones up here, hire illegals, you may go broke now.
And, the lady is NOT at fault. Most homeowners would do the same. The Democrats and RINOS that allowed this and greed that permeates businesses are at fault. And they deserve to pay the consequences.
